I’d had plans to go to another pagoda today with the same folks I’d visited the other pagodas a couple weeks ago, but it was raining too much. It’s quite a ways out of town and we’d be going by motorbike – not a lot of fun, nor very safe, in the rain. It rained hard last night and was still coming down pretty heavy this morning. It’s been great, actually. I love it. Anyway, we’ll go next Sunday. I’m looking forward to that. But it’s okay, I’ll stay in and work on lesson plans for the week – it’ll be good to get a jump on that. I’m also hoping to get together again with Sebastian later today for coffee. That’ll be nice.
I went to my favorite local restaurant this morning and had my usual – ‘Món com rang,’ which is pronounced “Moan comb zah,” believe it or not…..how you get ‘zah‘ out of ‘rang,’ I’ll never know. It’s basically fried rice and it’s delish. Not much to report, I’m afraid…..been working. I’m finally starting to get over the terrified jitters about teaching. I still have a long way to go, but it is getting a bit easier. I’ve been stewing on a couple of things I’d like to say about this new venture of teaching, but I still have to sort of wrap my head around it…..I think….
In the meantime, here are a few pictures of some of the minor events in my life……just you wait…..this is really exciting…I broke my reading glasses…..
…..so I fixed ’em! Duct tape…..I love it.
A picture of my bed on a typical day……
And finally, did I steer you wrong on the Top Grade DDT? No, sir, I did not. Now let me tell you where to find the Sanest Cakes around…..right here in Thai Binh City. Any other cake is simply crazy…..
I actually think you’re too funny for words… I love how you’re still crazy after all these years… (just like me). great pic of you! Ily!
