Vita & la Escuela

I’m heading off to Uruguay tomorrow, so today I’m trying to do a little catching up. I’m getting behind in my photo to blog ratio, if you catch my meaning. So, just a quick post.
I haven’t shown you any pictures of the school I went to last month which has helped me to become fluent in Spanish….. Ha ha ha! Yeah, that was a joke. I am about as far from being fluent as you can get and still be able to speak the language. Actually, I don’t think that makes any sense. Regardless, here are some pictures of my school followed by pictures of my favorite restaurant in Buenos Aires which is named Vita.

The entrance to the school is, shall we say, nondescript. But inside, it’s a tad nicer.

So many great old elevators in this city.

Nice school, huh?

Of course, it’s not the school’s fault that I’m not fluent. I didn’t expect to be at the end of one month, but my expectations were probably still a little too high. But I’m getting by okay and trying to learn something every day.

The view from the top of the stairs.
The view in the evening. Nice school, nice people.
Now for my favorite restaurant, Vita, which is just around the corner. It’s a vegan restaurant. I’m not vegan. I’m not even vegetarian anymore, though I do lean that way. I just went into this restaurant the first time because I was hungry and it was nearby…. and kept going back because the food was so good.
….and the atmosphere is really nice.
The restaurant is on Hipólito Yrigoyen, near the corner of Florida.

And here’s the super-sweet, kind young man I saw most days I went there. Such a sweetheart.

(:

  1. Love the inside of the school and the Beautiful old elevator. I also really like seeing your ‘every day life’ photos like the restaurant. Helps give a sense of the city and what you’ve been up to.

Can’t wait for your adventures in Uruguay !
