Busy, busy, busy…..  Since I last wrote, I’ve moved from Hanoi to Thai Binh.  I’ve settled into my small yet sufficient room.  I’ve taught one class so far.  ….and I’ve been struggling with either another cold or just remnants of gunk left in my lungs from Hanoi.  With cleaner air here in Thai Binh, I’m hoping that’ll clear up soon.  The class I taught was fun…..though I was a bit jittery, at least at first.  Seems I start off with every intention to cover all aspects of the chapter I’m teaching and when class starts I find I’m suddenly ‘winging it’…. just running on nerves and adrenaline.  But the thing that really does seem to work is my connection with the kids….being a 50 foot kid myself.  I think I’ll settle into eventually.

I’ve wanted to go outside of the city to take pictures, but ‘outside the city’ is a bit further away than I’d thought.  So, I’ll have to take a bus or a taxi to get there…..and right now I’m kinda broke!  I’ll get paid in a few weeks, but in the mean time, I need to pinch my pennies….or rather, my ðong…..ooh, that sounds seriously weird……  Anyway, it’s all good.  Something I’m finding is that having an adventure isn’t always…..adventuresome.  Sometimes one needs to spend time working on lesson plans or……doing laundry….  I’m going to be here in Thai Binh for at least 3 months and I’m guessing that a good portion of that time, I’ll just be going to work and ….doing laundry….you know?
